    What is Retro/Safety?

    The Retrospective Rating State Industrial Insurance Plan is an incentive program that allows employers with good safety records to earn refunds on the workers' compensation premiums they pay to the state Department of Labor and Industries.

    The concept is simple: Businesses in a retro program can earn a partial refund of their workers' comp premiums if they decrease the incidence of workplace injuries and have a better safety record.

    Retro/Safety Mission Statement

    WFB Retro/Safety is a program focused on providing workplace safety and workers' comp claims management services to our members. We assist Farm Bureau members implement a safe and healthy workplace; help ensure that our members are in compliance with state and federal regulations; and, serve as a liaison between L&I and members on industrial insurance claims.

     

    Safety Star Program for Retro/Safety Members

     

    Farm Bureau Retro/Safety members who qualify for the Safety Star Program are deferred from many routine Department of Labor and Industries safety inspections.

    To qualify for the Safety Star Program Retro/Safety members must have an ongoing safety program that includes worker participation, annual Farm Bureau safety inspections, and regular attendance at Retro/Safety workshops.
