A special presentation by Speaker of the House Frank Chopp is the latest addition to the agenda for the WFB Summer Conference on Friday, July 20, at Qwest Field in Seattle.
Speaker Chopp will speak during the noon - 1 p.m. lunch on the recent legislative session and future
opportunities and challenges.
There is no registration cost to attend for Farm Bureau members. Since the event is designed specifically with member families in mind, all Farm Bureau member families are invited and encouraged to attend.
On Friday morning, attendees will be bused from the host hotel (Comfort Suites in Tukwila) to Qwest Field, where special presentations will be provided on a variety of topics, including: Biofuel technologies and opportunities for Washington growers; a special address by Speaker Chopp; and a
"Trade Matters" presentation, featuring "Canada-United States Agricultural Trade
-- Facts, Figures and Myths."
Lunch will be provided at Qwest Field, as well as a private tour of the stadium
-- home of the Seattle Seahawks. Conference attendees not wishing to travel to Qwest Field may opt for a trip to nearby Southcenter Mall and a group lunch at the Rainforest Café, provided by the Washington Farm Bureau. On Friday evening, Farm Bureau member families will gather at the Family Fun Center in Tukwila (adjacent to the Comfort Suites) for food and fun activities.
A block of rooms has been reserved for Thursday, July 19, and Friday, July 20, at the Comfort Suites for Farm Bureau members.
