LACEY, WA - The political action committee of the Washington Farm Bureau, the state's largest general farm organization, has endorsed Rep. David Taylor (R-Moxee) in the Primary Election for the 15th District, Position 2 seat in the state House of Representatives.
Rep. Taylor was appointed to the legislature in March to fill a vacancy created when then-Rep. Dan Newhouse was appointed Director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture.
"David Taylor understands firsthand what agriculture needs to be successful in Washington," said Farm Bureau PAC Chairman Bob Stuhlmiller. "While in the seat this year, Rep. Taylor proved that he has what it takes to represent agriculture and the citizens in this district. He's the right person for this difficult job and we wholeheartedly support him."
In the legislature, Rep. Taylor serves on the House Ecology & Parks Committee, House State Government & Tribal Affairs Committee, and the House Technology, Energy & Communications Committee. A cattle rancher and land use consultant, Rep. Taylor and his wife, Molly, reside in Moxee with their children, Tiffany and Brock.
The Primary Election will be held August 18.
Candidates are recommended for endorsement based on their voting records (if already in office) and their understanding and support of Farm Bureau policy. In accordance with the Farm Bureau PAC's bylaws, a request from Yakima County Farm Bureau and its Candidate Evaluation Committee to endorse Taylor was brought forth. Today's announcement is the result of the Farm Bureau PAC Trustees approval of that request.
Farm Bureau PAC is the political action committee of Washington Farm Bureau, the state's largest general agriculture trade association, representing the economic and social interests of more than 36,000 member families.
