This fall, current growers and people thinking about becoming producers can participate in two multi-week courses being offered in North and South King County. The Cultivating Success program is a unique partnership between the Washington State University Extensions in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties, along with Rural Roots and the University of Idaho.

Applications for the 2010 Washington State University Master Gardener Program from WSU Snohomish County Extension are due in one month.

The program trains volunteers in horticulture, gardening, pest management and related topics, teaching them how to identify and troubleshoot common garden challenges and to offer environmentally responsible solutions. WSU faculty, staff, and local specialists provide the scientifically based training.
