The American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention is January 13-16, 2008, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

Register for the convention by contacting Sandy McCaig, WFB Executive Assistant. Registration is paid by WFB for WFB members.
Convention highlights include a keynote address on Monday, Jan. 14, by General Colin Powell, USA (Ret.). Powell was sworn in as the nation's 65th secretary of state in 2001. Before becoming secretary of state, Powell served as an aide to the secretary of defense and as national security adviser to President Reagan. He also served 35 years in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of four-star general and serving as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1989 to 1993.
On Monday evening, the AFBF Annual State Awards Program features the entertainment of The Gatlin Brothers.
A block of hotel rooms for Washington Farm Bureau members has been
reserved at the Astor Crowne Plaza (739 Canal Street at Bourbon). The room rate is $135 per room/per night, plus tax. A room reservation form is needed to secure a room at the Astor Crowne Plaza. Please contact Sandy McCaig for the hotel room reservation form.
Those attending the convention are asked to make their own travel arrangements.
More than 5,000 Farm Bureau members are expected to attend the convention.
