Nov. 12 Labor Conference to Address Important Employer Issues
The 2007 Employer Services Labor Conference was scheduled from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel City Center in Spokane. The conference coincided with the first day of the 88th Annual Meeting of the Washington Farm Bureau. The conference was a huge success with record attendance!
Former Washington State University star and Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien delivered the keynote address. The conference also included presentations from state and federal agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Labor, and presentations from Farm Bureau labor specialists.

Washington Farmers Re-elect Steve Appel to Lead Farm Bureau
SPOKANE - Voting delegates at the Washington Farm Bureau (WFB) annual meeting on Nov. 15 elected Steve Appel, a wheat and barley grower from Whitman County, to lead them into 2008.
Appel has served as WFB president since November 1994.
A third-generation farmer, Appel also serves as vice president of the American Farm Bureau Federation, the nation's largest general farm organization with more than 6 million members. Appel is a graduate of Washington State University.
