Second Vice President - Dean Farrens

Dean Farrens was first elected Second Vice President of the Washington Farm Bureau in 1999. In this role, Dean oversees the organization's policy development process.
Dean is a wheat and dry peas producer from Walla Walla County. Dean was a member of the first statewide Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee. He served twice as president of the Walla Walla County Farm Bureau, and he was a member of the Washington Farm Bureau Board of Directors from 1982-1985. A graduate of Washington State University with a degree in history and education, Dean taught junior high and high school in Prosser and Walla Walla before turning to full-time farming in 1974.
The annual policy development process in Farm Bureau represents the grassroots strength of the organization as members consider and debate state and national policy positions for the upcoming year.
